Innovative plans to use the open DPLA discovery framework to provide seamless, single-search access to these materials via the Encore Synergy platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DPLA is designed as a public-private initiative, where we view open APIs, open code, open content, and open metadata as essential to the future of libraries, archives, and museums,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedigitalshift.com\/author\/jpalfrey\/\">John Palfrey<\/a>, president of the Board of Directors of the DPLA, explained in a press announcement. \u201cWe strongly encourage companies to follow the lead of Innovative Interfaces to make use of these open resources, in the public interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Separately, the company announced today that its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iii.com\/news\/pr_display.php?id=513\">Decision Center<\/a>\u00a0collection management solution has been implemented at several public and academic libraries, including\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jefferson.lib.co.us\/\">Jefferson County Public Library<\/a>(CO),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulsalibrary.org\/\">Tulsa City-County Library<\/a>\u00a0(OK), and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/libraries.unl.edu\/\">University of Nebraska, Lincoln<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Working as an integrated part of Innovative\u2019s Millennium ILS or Sierra Services, Platform Decision Center utilizes Innovative\u2019s Dynamic Library Intelligence system to consider data including holds, circulation, expenditures, transit times, item locations, and patron demographics.
