From a March 9, 2012\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2012\/03\/09\/president-obama-announces-more-key-administration-posts\" target=\"_blank\">White House press release<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Luis Herrera, Nominee for Member, National Museum and Library Services Board<\/strong><br \/>\nLuis Herrera is the City Librarian of the San Francisco Public Library, where he is responsible for the administration of the city\u2019s 28 libraries. Previously, Mr. Herrera served as the Director of Information Services for Pasadena Public Library, the Deputy Director of the San Diego Public Library and Associate Director of the Long Beach Public Library in California.\u00a0 In January 2012, Mr. Herrera was named the Library Journal\u2019s Librarian of the Year.
