{"id":9,"date":"2005-01-14T10:19:19","date_gmt":"2005-01-14T14:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2005\/01\/14\/from-todays-globe\/"},"modified":"2005-01-14T10:19:19","modified_gmt":"2005-01-14T14:19:19","slug":"from-todays-globe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2005\/01\/14\/from-todays-globe\/","title":{"rendered":"From Today&#8217;s Globe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a4460'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>There are a couple of columns in today&#8217;s Boston Globe Op-Ed section<br \/>\n        which are worth a read.&nbsp; First in an excellent analysis of what&#8217;s<br \/>\n        really going on with Social Security called &quot;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/globe\/editorial_opinion\/oped\/articles\/2005\/01\/14\/generational_warfare\/\">Generational<br \/>\n        Warfare<\/a>&quot;, by<br \/>\n        Ben Hubbard.&nbsp; It points out that despite paying lip service to strong<br \/>\n        ties between generations,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\n          As for creating strong ties between generations, this administration<br \/>\n            has harnessed every American under the age of 30 to an enormous national<br \/>\n        debt &#8212; much of it accumulated in order to give tax breaks to the ultra-rich.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Excellent choice of verbs &#8211; harnessed &#8211; to describe the financial bit<br \/>\n        and bridle fit to every non-millionaire American by the time they finish<br \/>\n        their education and enter the work force.<\/p>\n<p>Right next door, the always erudite H.D.S.
