{"id":804,"date":"2006-03-14T12:01:27","date_gmt":"2006-03-14T16:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2006\/03\/14\/euro-porn-pays-off\/"},"modified":"2006-03-14T12:01:27","modified_gmt":"2006-03-14T16:01:27","slug":"euro-porn-pays-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2006\/03\/14\/euro-porn-pays-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Euro Porn Pays Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a8148'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\" border=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/dowbrigade\/\neuroporn.jpg\" width=\"410\" height=\"215\" align=\"left\">Fake porn euro notes being sold as a gimmick in Germany<br \/>\n        are being successfully passed off as real cash.<\/p>\n<p>The notes, in 300, 600 and 1,000 euro denominations have a ring of 12<br \/>\n        hearts instead of the usual EU stars and feature hunky men and big-breasted<br \/>\n        nude women.<\/p>\n<p>        Instead of the word &#8216;Euro&#8217; being printed in the corner these notes have<br \/>\n      &#8216;Eros&#8217; &#8211; the Greek god of love.<\/p>\n<p>But despite these differences &#8211; and the fact that the only large euro<br \/>\n        notes currently in circulation are 100s, 200s and 500s &#8211; police say they<br \/>\n        are being passed off as the real thing.<\/p>\n<p>        Cologne newsagent Bernd Friedhelm, 33, accepted one of the fake 600 euro<br \/>\n        notes from an unknown customer who bought two cartons of cigarettes and<br \/>\n        walked off with 534 euros in change.<\/p>\n<p>        Friedhelm said: &quot;He told me it was a new type of note and I just<br \/>\n      figured I hadn&#8217;t seen one before.&quot;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ananova.com\/news\/story\/sm_1760580.html\">Ananova<\/a><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fake porn euro notes being sold as a gimmick in Germany are being successfully passed off as real cash.
