We have been talking with our cats quite a bit lately,
\n whether from lack of a patient alternative or a newfound appreciation
\n of non-human intelligence we know not. Today we tried to explain Groundhog
\n Day – an entire national holiday dedicated to a rodent – and they got
\n rather upset.<\/p>\n

We had to explain that there was no "Kitty Day".
\n <\/em>Then we had to explain that the process for getting a national
\n holiday declared was long and arduous – longer than the lifespan of
\n the average
\n cat.<\/p>\n

"Besides," we told them, "the cards are stacked
\n against you. This President is a dog person."<\/p>\n

It was when we mentioned that we had just entered
\n the "Year of the Dog" that they formed the Feline Liberation Front
