\n anniversary of the United Nations<\/a>, over 150 Presidents and Heads
\n of State have gathered in New York City to pontificate, hob-nob, and
\n shop. The average daily temperature is predicted to rise several degrees
\n due to the surfeit of hot air.<\/p>\n
\n some of the ancilliary events, but unfortunately, responsibility reared
\n its ugly head in the form of our day job, about
\n which
\n we are terminally forbidden to blog, having taken a blood oath to that
\n effect. Coincidentally, Chavez also cancelled
\n all of his<\/p>\n
\n events. After
\n a visa
\n snafu<\/a> reminiscent of when his buddy Fidel came to the UN,
\n his very arrival in New York was in doubt because of problems getting
\n visas for
\n his doctors
\n and
\n security
\n detail. He appearantly decided to simplify things and stay well within
\n his security envelope.<\/p>\n
\n where he used his alloted ten minutes to predict $100
\n a barrel oil<\/a>, call for
\n a completely new
\n world economic and political order<\/a>, and demand that
\n the United Nations move
\n out of the United States<\/a> (he suggested Jerusalem).Who knows what
\n else he would have said if they hadn’t cut his mike at the end of his
\n alloted
\n turn?<\/p>\n
\n the Dowbrigade that Chavez’s activities were cancelled due to scheduling
\n and security concerns related to the President’s desire to visit Radio
\n City Music Hall, Bill Clinton’s office in Harlem, and a Santeria priest
\n in Flushing, Queens.<\/p>\n
