Now, scientists in Pittsburg, of all places,<br \/>\n        have peeled back the veil of death and refused to let dead dogs lie. They<br \/>\n        predict that human resusitation is just around the corner. Jesus may soon<br \/>\n        lose his monopoly on this rising from the dead stuff&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\n        SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after<br \/>\n        several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation<br \/>\n        for humans.<\/p>\n<p>        US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of<br \/>\n        clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.<\/p>\n<p>        Pittsburgh&#8217;s Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique<br \/>\n        in which subject&#8217;s veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold<br \/>\n        salt solution.<\/p>\n<p>        The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing<br \/>\n        and have no heartbeat or brain activity.<\/p>\n<p>        But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are<br \/>\n        brought back to life with an electric shock.<\/p>\n<p>        Plans to test the technique on humans should be realised within a year,<br \/>\n        according to the Safar Centre.<\/p>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/story\/0,10117,15739502-13762,00.html\">News.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our old college buddy and ethnobotanist Wade Davis wrote the book on Haitian Zombie Powder (The Serpent and the Rainbow).
