Plots in the Barnstable Community Garden in Marstons Mills cost $25
\napiece for the full year, most of which pays for water. Although all but one
\nof the 48 garden plots are already taken this year, the garden, located inside
\nthe
\nLong Pond Conservation Area, verges on an unplowed
\nwildgrass meadow that’s available for cultivation.<\/p>\n
Maggie Anzola’s zucchini recently took first place at the Barnstable
\n County Fair. So did her zinnias.<\/p>\n
"I only entered the ‘Z’ category," she joked.<\/p>\n
Her kids, Katherine, 9, and Henry, 5, entered the ‘P’ category. Or should that
\n be ‘G’? In any case, their greenpeas also took a prize.<\/p>\n
