{"id":254,"date":"2005-05-11T00:50:21","date_gmt":"2005-05-11T04:50:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2005\/05\/11\/nothing-new-under-the-ra\/"},"modified":"2005-05-11T00:50:21","modified_gmt":"2005-05-11T04:50:21","slug":"nothing-new-under-the-ra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2005\/05\/11\/nothing-new-under-the-ra\/","title":{"rendered":"Nothing New Under the Ra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a5063'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\" border=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/dowbrigade\/goniftut.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"280\" align=\"left\">Egyptian<br \/>\n        scientists have finally lifted the veil of mystery surrounding famed<br \/>\n        pharaoh Tutankhamun&#8217;s death, saying he died of a swift attack of gangrene<br \/>\n        after breaking his leg.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;After consultations with Italian and Swiss experts, Egyptian scientists<br \/>\n&#8230; have found that a fracture in the boy king&#8217;s left leg a day before his death<br \/>\nwas infected with gangrene and led to his passing,&quot; Egypt&#8217;s Supreme Council<br \/>\nof Antiquities said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p> The team, aided by French and US scientists, also revealed Tutankhamun&#8217;s<br \/>\n        features.<br \/>\n&quot;A silicone mold bearing the features of the boy king and whose examination<br \/>\nalso confirms the size and shape of his skull,&quot; was obtained, the statement<br \/>\nsaid, quoting Egypt&#8217;s chief archeologist Zahi Hawas.<\/p>\n<p>The mold was produced by placing silicone on a plastic replica of Tutankhamun&#8217;s<br \/>\nskull which was constructed from a previously available computerized X-ray of<br \/>\nthe 3,300-year-old mummy.<\/p>\n<p><em>The mascara is a nice touch. This guy could be a Mabeline model.<br \/>\n          At first we thought we dated his sister in college, but now we&#8217;re not<br \/>\n          so sure it wasn&#8217;t him.
