Back in 2000, when we realized that the Presidential
\n election was coming down to a Harvard Man vs. a Yale Man, we began to
\n get a
\n creepy feeling of foreboding. As any Harvard Man who has been
\n sucker-punched by a Yalie will tell you, those guys fight dirty. Sure
\n enough, the election came down to a desperate, naked power grab, and
\n sure enough, the creatively unscrupulous Eli out-slashed his hapless
\n Harvidian competitor.<\/p>\n
And more power to him. Political skulduggery has a long
\n and hoary history in the American political panorama, and if that pansy
\n Al Gore proved he couldn’t hang with the big boys, we’re better off without
\n him.<\/p>\n
But this time the Democrats wised up and found themselves
\n a Yalie as well. Watching these two go at each other is going to be like
\n watching a steel cage death match between a rabid iguana and a wombat
\n on crystal meth. Big time politics is decidedly not a sport for gentlemen.<\/p>\n
As the accompanying photo from his Yale days testifies,
\n there is no doubt that George W. is willing to go the extra mile to bring
\n home the trophy. The question of the day is whether the Johns are going
\n to be able to mix it up, down and dirty, to and not only to match, but
\n to anticipate and out-sleaze the sleazemasters. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n
