{"id":2366,"date":"2004-05-10T13:28:50","date_gmt":"2004-05-10T17:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2004\/05\/10\/blogging-the-conventions\/"},"modified":"2004-05-10T13:28:50","modified_gmt":"2004-05-10T17:28:50","slug":"blogging-the-conventions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2004\/05\/10\/blogging-the-conventions\/","title":{"rendered":"Blogging the Conventions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a3336'><\/a><\/p>\n<p><P><EM>This story, in <\/EM><A href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/articles\/2004\/05\/10\/blogs_colliding_with_traditional_media\/\"><EM>today&#8217;s Boston Globe<\/EM><\/A><EM>, is the first indication we have received that Blogging the Convention is a real possibility &#8211; at least for some Bloggers.&nbsp; Despite our near-desperate desire, position near the top of the Berkman hits list, and our entreaties to the Democratic National Committee, the Kerry Campaign and the Berkman Center itself, we have been met with a deafening silence thus far.&nbsp; Are we being paranoid, or is there a plot against us? Perhaps we simply have yet to encounter the correct email address to which to send our request. Any help or ideas, dear readers?<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P>Among the media credential applications for this summer&#8217;s Democratic National Convention &#8212; from the TV networks, newspapers, and radio stations &#8212; is the one from 21-year-old Jesse Taylor, a pundit of the self-declared variety.<\/P><br \/>\n<P>He may not be a traditional journalist, but the recent college graduate does have a blog, a website called pandagon.net, where his opinions on current events and the press draw 12,000 readers per day. And from the standpoint of Democratic National Convention organizers, that could be good enough.
