Who knew<br \/>\n        that before meeting the Cat in the Hat, Seuss was the political cartoonist<br \/>\n        for a New York daily newspaper which no longer exists?<\/p>\n<p>\n        Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel, 1904-1991) was a life-long cartoonist:<br \/>\n          in high school in Springfield, Massachusetts; in college at Dartmouth<br \/>\n          (Class of 1925); as an adman in New York City before World War II;<br \/>\n          and in his many children&#8217;s books, beginning with To Think That I Saw<br \/>\n          it on Mulberry Street (1937)<\/p>\n<p>from <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/jkbaumga\/2004\/03\/04#a856\">j&#8217;s<br \/>\n      scratchpad<\/a> (the girl with the untied shoes)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jessica has a nice post (one of a number on the topic, actually) on the hundredth birthday of Dr. Suess.In her posting is a link to an archive of Seuss political cartoons.
