{"id":201,"date":"2005-04-25T21:07:36","date_gmt":"2005-04-26T01:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2005\/04\/25\/north-korean-propaganda-video-exposed\/"},"modified":"2005-04-25T21:07:36","modified_gmt":"2005-04-26T01:07:36","slug":"north-korean-propaganda-video-exposed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2005\/04\/25\/north-korean-propaganda-video-exposed\/","title":{"rendered":"North Korean Propaganda Video Exposed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a4918'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\">\n&nbsp; <\/p>\n<tr>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<td width=\"400\" height=\"391\">\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; our tireless search for scandal and sources of righteous indignation,<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; the Dowbrigade recently uncovered a snippet of video floating around<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; cyberspace so shocking and objectionable it tested the limits of decency<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and credibility.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; punk rock band slamming out<br \/>\ntheir anthem, the unforgettable &quot;<a><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; USA.<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; original sheet music (in<br \/>\nKorean, of course), but also <a><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; expert<br \/>\nsource<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; KOREAN MISDIRECTION PROPAGANDA PLOY.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; mentioned &quot;Fuckin&#8217;<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; USA.&quot;<br \/>\nThe subtitles reveal this as a North Korean produced video,<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and while the visuals may in fact be North Korean in origin, I&#8217;d have<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; to say the song is a product of my current nation of residence. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In the South,<br \/>\npeople use the word, &#8220;&#48513;&#54620; (&#21271;&#38867;)&#8221; when talking about North Korea.&nbsp; In<br \/>\nthe North, people use the word &#8220;&#51312;&#49440; (&#26397;&#39854;)&#8221; instead of &#8220;&#48513;&#54620;.&#8221;&nbsp;<br \/>\n&#8220;Fuckin&#8217; USA,&#8221; makes use of the word &#8220;&#48513;&#54620;,&#8221; a<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; term no self<br \/>\nrespecting North Korean would to refer to their home country.<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; the mold of the Faked Rather Bush letters! Great Caesar&#8217;s Ghost &#8211; hold<br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; the presses!
