The source of the trouble comes<br \/>\n        straight from the town&#8217;s firehouse, where the pornography career of one<br \/>\n        of its own has many fuming.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/dowbrigade\/cl1logo1.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"296\" align=\"left\">On Jan. 13, most of the town&#8217;s 33 volunteer firefighters walked off<br \/>\n        the job for three days after a cadet was fired for allegedly visiting<br \/>\n        a pornographic website. The details are in dispute, but by some accounts<br \/>\n        the cadet was accused of hacking into the pay-to-view pornographic website<br \/>\n        of Chantel Lace, otherwise known in town as Alexas Jones, a volunteer<br \/>\n        firefighter, wife of the assistant fire chief, and daughter-in-law of<br \/>\n      the chief.<\/p>\n<p>        &#8221;It&#8217;s not just about the porn star issue; that&#8217;s only a part of it,&#8221;<br \/>\n          said Jared Gibson, one of the firefighters who joined the walkout.<br \/>\n          He and the rest of the crew did not want to leave their jobs, he said,<br \/>\n          but needed to make a point. &#8221;It&#8217;s about having people run the department<br \/>\n          the right way.&#8221; Captain Herb Collier, who also joined the walkout,<br \/>\n          said he wants assurances that the Joneses&#8217; pornography business stays<br \/>\n      out of the day-to-day operation of the firehouse.<\/p>\n<p>\n        Jones said she has no plans to resign her nonpaying post, although she<br \/>\n          has been on leave since November because of a problem with her hip.<br \/>\n          &quot;As far as pushing me out, that&#8217;s not going to happen,&#8221; she said Wednesday<br \/>\n      night. &#8221;When I&#8217;m on duty, I don&#8217;t mix my two jobs.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/dailyglobe2\/026\/nation\/Porn_ignites_firehouse_fray%2B.shtml\">Boston Globe<\/a><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KEYES, Calif. &#8212; No one quite remembers the last big fire to rage through town, but a firestorm &#8212; fueled by sex and the Internet &#8212; has engulfed this rural community.
