Out of the wild west it came….Dueling lawsuits….Showdown
\n at the Courtroom Corral…A Lawyers Bonanza and a Comedy of Trials
\n and Error<\/em>s. <\/p>\n

Sharman Networks, the company behind the Kazaa file-sharing software,
\n filed a federal lawsuit on Monday accusing the entertainment companies
\n of using unauthorized versions of its software in their efforts to snoop
\n out users. <\/p>\n

Sharman said the companies used Kazaa Lite, an ad-less replica of its software,
\n to get onto the network. The lawsuit also claims efforts to combat piracy
\n on Kazaa violated terms for using the network. Entertainment companies
\n have offered bogus versions of copyright works and sent online messages
\n to users. <\/p>\n
