{"id":1481,"date":"2003-09-23T09:40:01","date_gmt":"2003-09-23T13:40:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2003\/09\/23\/double-jeopardy-deserved\/"},"modified":"2003-09-23T09:40:01","modified_gmt":"2003-09-23T13:40:01","slug":"double-jeopardy-deserved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2003\/09\/23\/double-jeopardy-deserved\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Jeopardy Deserved?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a1219'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\" border=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td width=\"410\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/dowbrigade\/jcurley.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"188\" align=\"left\">Prosecutorial<br \/>\n        pit bull John Ashcroft, obviously with time on his hands despite the<br \/>\n        war on terrorism, the fight for the Patriot Act, and the ongoing proceedings<br \/>\n        against current miscreants, has been delving into the archives to find<br \/>\n        underpenalized past cases to which he can apply the death sentence retroactively.<br \/>\n        The latest such case involves the murderers of 10-year-old Jeffry Curley<br \/>\n        of Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone could be said to be poster boys for capital punishment, short<br \/>\n        of Timothy McVeigh or Usama Bin Laden, it is the two slimebags who kidnapped<br \/>\n        and murdered this kid.
