The money requested would have enabled us to improve foreign<br \/>\n            language<br \/>\n            competency and cultural awareness at all levels: to educate our children<br \/>\n            to meet the 21st century; to address the needs in undergraduate and<br \/>\n            advanced studies; to advance international research and teaching<br \/>\n            through academic and scholarly exchanges; to create an informed electorate<br \/>\n            through citizen education in international affairs.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>Kids, meet the 21st century.&nbsp; 21st century,<br \/>\n          meet the kids.&nbsp;As to the need to speak more than one language,<br \/>\n          hey, if those furriners couldn&#8217;t be bothered to learn English, who cares<br \/>\n          what<br \/>\n        they have to say?<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">John A.
