{"id":139,"date":"2005-03-29T18:10:10","date_gmt":"2005-03-29T22:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dbnews\/2005\/03\/29\/new-bu-dress-code\/"},"modified":"2005-03-29T18:10:10","modified_gmt":"2005-03-29T22:10:10","slug":"new-bu-dress-code","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dowbrigade\/2005\/03\/29\/new-bu-dress-code\/","title":{"rendered":"New BU Dress Code"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a4777'><\/a><\/p>\n<table width=\"537\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/blogs\/static\/dowbrigade\/biodow.gif\" width=\"159\" height=\"350\" align=\"left\">In a scathing report examining the exposure of three<br \/>\n        Boston University researchers to tularemia last year, Boston public health<br \/>\n        authorities<br \/>\n            yesterday called on BU to strengthen internal oversight of safety<br \/>\n            in medical school laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>      The study by the Boston Public Health Commission is sharply<br \/>\n      critical of safety lapses in the lab where the scientists contracted potentially<br \/>\n      lethal tularemia while developing a vaccine against the bacterial disease,<br \/>\n      commonly known as rabbit fever.\n      <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Top representatives of the Public Health Commission<br \/>\n        sketched out their findings last night for Boston city councilors, who<br \/>\n        were meeting to collect testimony about BU&#8217;s ability to operate a proposed<br \/>\n        lab where researchers could study the deadliest known pathogens, including<br \/>\n      ebola, plague, and anthrax.<\/p>\n<p>        Several councilors &#8212; including Maura Hennigan, who is running for mayor<br \/>\n          against incumbent Thomas M.
