In this post, I show how to selectively share content on Google+.\u00a0 This example assumes that you have created a circle called &#8216;Close Friends&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Step 1. Click the box that says &#8216;+Add circles or people to share with&#8230;&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1090\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus3.jpg 1090w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus3-300x126.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus3-1024x430.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1090px) 100vw, 1090px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step 4. Since &#8216;Close friends&#8217; doesn&#8217;t initially show up in the drop down menu, we need to click\u00a0 &#8217;10 more&#8230;&#8217;.\u00a0 (If &#8216;Close friends&#8217; had appeared we could have skipped to the next step.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1090\" height=\"458\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step 5. Click &#8216;Close friends&#8217; in the drop down menu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1090\" height=\"458\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step 6. Verify that the message is being shared with the people that you expected by glancing at the circles in the box under the message text.\u00a0 After, you&#8217;ve confirmed that the message is being shared with the right circle(s), click &#8216;share&#8217; to publish it.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1090\" height=\"458\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step 7. After the message has been published, you can check who it&#8217;s being shared with by clicking the text that says &#8216;Limited&#8217;.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1090\" height=\"458\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step 8. Google+ pops up a box showing small profile pictures of everyone with whom the post is shared. Mousing over these small pictures causes Google+ to show the person&#8217;s name and a larger picture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-277\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1069\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus8.jpg 1069w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus8-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/dlarochelle\/files\/2011\/08\/gplus8-1024x499.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1069px) 100vw, 1069px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note: As far as I was able to determine, once a post is shared, there is no way to change which users are able to see it.
