{"id":63,"date":"2008-02-11T09:26:43","date_gmt":"2008-02-11T13:26:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/digitalnatives\/2008\/02\/11\/my-favorite-diy-videos\/"},"modified":"2008-02-11T09:26:43","modified_gmt":"2008-02-11T13:26:43","slug":"my-favorite-diy-videos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/digitalnatives\/2008\/02\/11\/my-favorite-diy-videos\/","title":{"rendered":"My favorite DIY videos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There\u2019s been so many great videos this weekend \u2013 hats off to the DIY curatorial team for really putting together a great show!\u00a0 It\u2019s been great fun to see the videos usually seen in tiny little windows on the big screen.\u00a0 A few videos particularly stood out to me, and not too surprisingly, many of them made by young vidders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uVHdqmN7-XE\">Chongalicious<\/a>:\u00a0 a great spoof on the song \u201cFergalicious\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"video.google.com\/videoplay?docid=6061551977859737596\">Slip of the Toungue<\/a>:\u00a0 A girl at a bus stop responds to the question &#8216;what is your ethnic makeup?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ybDa0gSuAcg\">Black Doll White Doll<\/a> \u2013 a strong and sad discussion of race by talented young girls.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Pre-schoolers still choose the white doll.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JnylM1hI2jc\">In My Language<\/a> \u2013 an incredibly original, eloquent and powerful vlog by an autistic woman.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Watch it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/digitalnatives\/wp-admin\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nTbL5elVXrU\">Ballad of Black Mesa<\/a>\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 this piece that will blow away most of the videos on MTV.\u00a0 The program describes it as &#8220;Half-Life 2 meets iPod commercial meets stomp.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IoXgRtDysLY\">Bush vs. Zombies<\/a> &#8211; George Bush addresses the zombie threat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/not-on.tv\/ref\/?tag=rupert_howe\">Mad as Hell<\/a> &#8211; walking manifesto about work, life, and vlogging<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"www.youtube.com\/watch?v=o-zoPgv_nYg\">Bomb, Bomb, Bomb.\u00a0 Bomb, bomb Iran<\/a> &#8211; scary. funny. scary.\u00a0 watch this if you&#8217;re even thinking about voting for John McCain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"revver.com\/video\/71633\/george-bush-dont-like-black-people\/\">George Bush don\u2019t like Black People<\/a> &#8211; very cool remix about Katrina<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The summit will be putting many of the videos screened up on their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.video24-7.org\/\">site<\/a> soon. \u00a0 Be sure to check them out!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&#8211;
