I was bred and buttered, as they say, in Connecticut and New Jersey, respectively, but now I live in an old house in inland southern California with my wife and two kids.<\/p>\n

“CQ2” is shorthand for “Condor’s Quill II”, since I had a blog-like mailing list years ago, reporting to family and friends on our travels in Southeast Asia, named “Condor’s Quill.” More than somewhat immodestly, it comes from a line in Moby Dick<\/em>: “Give me a condor’s quill! Give me Vesuvius’ crater for an inkstand!” Oh, how I envy you if you haven’t read Moby Dick<\/em> yet.<\/p>\n
