<\/a>Time flies! Get it?!<\/p><\/div>\n
Here\u2019s a brief overview off what\u2019s been going on in my life since my last post.<\/p>\n
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19th<\/sup>: Harvard-Yale<\/p>\n As always, Harvard-Yale (H-Y) was an unforgettable experience.\u00a0 Just to be clear, H-Y is the annual football game against Yale.\u00a0 It\u2019s cryptically referred to as \u201cThe Game\u201d here on campus.\u00a0 This year, H-Y was at Yale so there was a huge exodus from Cambridge.\u00a0 Most people made their way down to New Haven to take part in the festivities.<\/p>\n I look forward to H-Y without fail because it is one day a year when school spirit reigns supreme.\u00a0 H-Y is evidence of the thriving Harvard community.\u00a0 Students, Alumni, friends, family, and football enthusiasts all come together to share in the experience.\u00a0 This year was no different.<\/p>\n I\u2019m not much of a sports fan, so I prefer to shift my attention to the student tailgates.\u00a0 I dressed up in my best Harvard apparel, ate hot dogs and hamburgers, and kicked back with some of my closest friends and fellow classmates.<\/p>\n Me and my friends at the H-Y tailgate<\/p><\/div>\n Oh, and Harvard won the game 45-7. Go Crimson!<\/a><\/p>\n TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd<\/sup>: Home Sweet Home!<\/strong><\/p>\n After Harvard-Yale, I went back to campus and powered through the last few days of class before Thanksgiving break.\u00a0 By Tuesday evening I was sitting at the Starbucks in Logan Airport, waiting to board my flight home.<\/p>\n I love traveling to and from school.\u00a0 As I mentioned in my Blogger Bio, I\u2019m from Virginia, so I usually fly into one of the Washington, D.C. airports.\u00a0 Travel from Boston to D.C. is a breeze!\u00a0 Tickets are almost always available, and the flight only lasts about one hour.\u00a0 Plus I can take the T (Boston public transportation) to the airport, instead of spending a ton of money on a cab.<\/p>\n The best part about coming home for breaks is the warm welcome!\u00a0 My mom treats me like a soldier returning from war.<\/p>\n THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24th<\/sup>: Turkey Day<\/strong><\/p>\n Thanksgiving is one of my top three favorite holidays (the other two are Halloween and the Fourth of July).\u00a0 I look forward to it each and every year, and this year did not disappoint!\u00a0 The spread at my house included everything from honey baked ham to corn souffl\u00e9.\u00a0 I especially love Thanksgiving now that I\u2019m in college, because I don\u2019t have to ration the leftovers.\u00a0 I\u2019m only around to enjoy the food for a few days, so I don\u2019t worry about saving anything for the next week, so I just enjoy the food recklessly.<\/p>\n SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27th<\/sup>: Back to School<\/strong><\/p>\n I flew back to school on Sunday morning.\u00a0 I decided to get to Cambridge early in the day so that I could get ready for the LAST WEEK OF CLASS of the semester.\u00a0 The light at the end of the tunnel had never been brighter.<\/p>\n FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2nd<\/sup>: School\u2019s Out! (But not really\u2026)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Last day of class!\u00a0 Actually, I don\u2019t even have class on Friday, so Thursday was technically my last day but we won\u2019t worry about that silly little detail. \u00a0Regardless, I decided to reward my hard work this semester with an evening of appreciating the arts.<\/p>\n First, I stopped by Memorial Church (Mem Church or MemChu) in the Yard to see the Kuumba<\/a> Christmas Concert.\u00a0 The Kuumba Singers of Harvard College are just one of the many amazing choirs here on campus.\u00a0 I went to support a few friends and hear some great music.\u00a0 The energy at the concert was fantastic.\u00a0 People were on their feet, clapping to the beat, and swaying back on forth.\u00a0 One highlight of the concert, at least for me, was when the group sang the Boyz II Men arrangement of \u201cSilent Night\u201d.<\/p>\n My ticket from the Kuumba Christmas Concert<\/p><\/div>\n After Kuumba, I made the short walk of to Sanders Theatre to catch the second half of \u201cTwas the Jam Before Christmas\u201d, which was a joint-effort a capella concert featuring the Harvard Krokodiloes<\/a> (Kroks) and the Harvard Opportunes<\/a> (Opps).\u00a0 Unfortunately, I missed the Opps because I was at the Kuumba concert, but the Kroks were out of this world.\u00a0 They must practice in their sleep, because they seemed so comfortable on stage.\u00a0 The jokes between songs genuinely made me laugh, and the soloists were incredible.\u00a0 There was even tap-dancing involved in the show!\u00a0 I think the best word to describe the performance is \u201ccheeky\u201d.\u00a0 They do a great job of making sure their bits are fun and carefree, with just the right amount of sass.<\/p>\n My ticket from the Kroks and Opps performance<\/p><\/div>\n Okay, I think that just about catches us up.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have to excuse me now, as a hide away in my \u201cReading Period Cave\u201d.*\u00a0 Also known as the Harvard Library System<\/a> (especially Widener, Lamont, and Houghton).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/a>
