{"id":2976,"date":"2005-04-05T20:04:31","date_gmt":"2005-04-06T00:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/cmusings\/2005\/04\/05\/glenn-and-cc\/"},"modified":"2005-04-05T20:04:31","modified_gmt":"2005-04-06T00:04:31","slug":"glenn-and-cc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/cmusings\/2005\/04\/05\/glenn-and-cc\/","title":{"rendered":"Glenn and CC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name='a1064'><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/about\/people#10\">Glenn Otis Brown<\/A> has announced that he is leaving <A href=\"http:\/\/www.creativecommons.org\">Creative Commons<\/A>, and, in his last days there, he is writing a <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5378\">wonderful<\/A> <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5376\">series<\/A> of posts about his experience. In particular, he&#8217;s providing deserved praise for his <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5383\">fellow<\/A> <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5381\">fantastic<\/A> <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5165\">Commoners<\/A>.&nbsp; Glenn deserves plenty of praise, too, and, though I only worked briefly with him, let me say the following.<BR><BR>I have always found it a bit strange, or at least incomplete, to hear Creative Commons described as Larry Lessig&#8217;s &#8211; his baby, his brainchild.&nbsp; Whether you knew it or not, Glenn was on the ground, 36 hours a day, putting the vision into effect. He gave himself up completely to this project, and witnessing that was inspirational for me.&nbsp;&nbsp;Not to take&nbsp;anything away from Lessig or the other amazing CC team members, but Creative Commons would not be where it is today without Glenn.<BR><BR>He&#8217;s also quite generous and funny and a terrific boss.&nbsp; Sad to see him leave CC, but I&#8217;m glad that, <A href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/weblog\/entry\/5376\">as he said<\/A>, he&#8217;ll still be part of the CC effort in some form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So Glenn Otis Brown has announced that he is leaving Creative Commons, and, in his last days there, he is writing a wonderful series of posts about his experience.
