Some people are turned off by her &#8216;preciousness,&#8217; and I\u00a0admit she walks a very very very fine line with it,\u00a0but I agree 100% with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyobserver.com\/2007\/miranda-july-s-perversely-sentimental-new-ven-ture\">this reviewer&#8217;s<\/a> thoughts on her:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Ms. July is graced with an unabashed love for the basic humanity of her characters. She\u2019s a true anomaly in that she\u2019s able to recognize the fucked-up underbelly of the culture while still having faith in that culture\u2019s ability to survive and, however impossibly, achieve a few moments of shattering beauty.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And she has a cute <a href=\"http:\/\/noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com\/\">hyperlinked promo site<\/a> for the book, in keeping with her preciousness.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: I just looked at her promo site again, she is so\u00a0fucking cute.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Filmmaker Miranda July has gone back to fiction-writing and published a new book of short stories.
