Kate was an animator on <\/span><i>Waking Life<\/i><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">.&#8221; The three expected<br \/>\nto be able to live cheaply in Austin and contemplate their art.<br \/>\nBujalski lasted a year; Justin Rice left quickly. &#8220;It was the high-tech<br \/>\nboom,&#x2019; Rice said. &#8220;Every Web site in the world was here. We paid more<br \/>\nrent than in Cambridge.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<p>Poor public transportation + no jobs + no friends there = No Austin for me.
