Every Thursday evening, unless otherwise noted, we have meetings for weblog writers at 7 PM at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society<\/a>, 23 Everett Street, Cambridge MA. Map<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The purpose: to provide a forum for technophiles, explore blogging and related technology, answer questions, give demos, talk about new stuff, etc.<\/p>\n

Our group is open to the public. Meetings begin at 7 pm. Although we appreciate promptness, many people drift in between 7 pm and 7:30 pm. We don’t meet on major holidays (like Thanksgiving) and may cancel a meeting on short notice in the case of very severe weather.<\/p>\n

We began in 2003 as a support group for people blogging on Harvard’s new blog server and have morphed out of that into discussions about all sorts of technology. Mostly, it’s Web-based stuff and seems to often be what some people call Web 2.0 kinds of things (RSS & XML feeds, aggregators, social networking software, wikis, Internet filtering, spam, search engines, etc.). Basically, whatever our group members are interested in, we discuss.<\/p>\n

We have people from all levels of tech knowledge, too. Several of our members are programmers and developers who do consulting on the side. We get a lot of people who are new to blogging who might need some quick help with something. Even though our group is based at Harvard, only a few members actually have any ties to the university. We’re very informal.<\/p>\n

The meetings last between one and two hours. After the meeting we like to go out to dinner. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome.<\/p>\n
