Jimmy Johnson’s giving Janis another makeover… I can remember the
\nlast time he did this and ended up with the current saucepan-for-hair
\nlook, which honestly, I rather like… though I do agree Janis — and
\nArlo — can sometimes look somewhat baboonish<\/a>. I guess I’d vote for “the tweak<\/a>,” though there are still more candidates to be seen.<\/p>\n

I’m also excited that A&J’s now got its own website<\/a>. I had a brief correspondence with Johnson in ’99 (I admit feeling a bit like Jumpstart’s Frank with his obsession for “Klondike Ike<\/a>“), and he told me at the time there were no plans for a new A&J book (the only one I know of is out of print<\/a> from ’89). The website serves up some great strips and somewhat makes up for the lack of a bound-paper archive.\n<\/p>\n

(BTW, I hope Gene hasn’t disappeared into the great blue… he’s a great character, and I miss him too!)\n<\/p>\n

Update<\/b> (5\/14\/04): You can now vote for Janis’s hairstyle<\/a>. I was waivering between the “Tweak” and the “Waif” and decided to go for the less popular one<\/a>.
