There are however, a few dishes, at a few places, that do make the cut. Little Saigon and surrounding area is home to the largest population of Viet people outside of Vietnam so I&#8217;d be willing to bet this list includes some of the best Viet food outside of Vietnam. I&#8217;ll start with everyone&#8217;s favorite dish:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-379 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.harvard.edu\/adeepdive\/files\/2021\/08\/o-2-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/adeepdive\/files\/2021\/08\/o-2-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/adeepdive\/files\/2021\/08\/o-2.jpg 729w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pho:\u00a0Ph\u1edf V\u00e8 D\u1ea7y D\u00f2n with quail egg at\u00a0Pho Quang Trung. I prefer the one on Westminster over the one on Bolsa. Something about the cuts of meat, they do it very right here. They&#8217;re usually out of quail egg unless you&#8217;re early.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com\/bphoto\/NH4iSXW-cvwVMFQ2TnfYUA\/o.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Cococane - Garden Grove, CA, United States. ($6)\" width=\"488\" height=\"443\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nuoc Mia: The Original Cococaine with kumquat at Cococaine. Right next to OK water, this store keeps true to it&#8217;s FOB heritage by being half fruit market, half juice store with amazing taste in EDM music. They do Viet modern fusion really well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com\/bphoto\/3ZPBfq_Nsp1SXXNKsWHH9Q\/o.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Tan Cang Newport Seafood - Santa Ana, CA, United States. 5lb Lobster Noodle\" width=\"509\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lobster Noodles: Newport Special Lobster at\u00a0Tan Cang Newport Seafood. A staple at weddings but if you have a family to feed I bet they&#8217;d love this.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com\/bphoto\/5Nkp9Ri1PacW4LBSJiXdkA\/o.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Kim Su Seafood Restaurant - Westminster, CA, United States. Clams with ginger and green onions\" width=\"573\" height=\"383\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Clams at Kim Su: I can pretty much finish a plate of these my own and I use the rice to soak up the sauce. Salmon Hollandaise\" width=\"531\" height=\"371\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Salmon with Hollandaise sauce at Song Long: You know why we make such good bread and sandwiches? Because we were colonized by the French. And we got this dish out of it too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com\/bphoto\/-madSzyhwr-5XNJNfQX9Xg\/o.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Brodard Restaurant - Fountain Valley, CA, United States. Grilled Pork Spring Rolls \u00a0Nem Nuong Cuon\" width=\"518\" height=\"691\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Spring Rolls at Brodard: Honestly I&#8217;m not the biggest fan of spring rolls but this restaurant is a staple for this iconic food so it gets a spot on the list as well.
